Ukraine’s postal administration, Ukrposhta, is celebrating Oleksandr Usyk in a way few boxers have ever achieved—by issuing a special stamp featuring the undefeated heavyweight champion. It was announced just a few days before his 21st Dec Picture of DAZN PPV rematch with Tyson Fury, the stamp is a tribute not to Usyk’s skills in the ring but to his status as a symbol of courage and pride in Ukraine.
The head of Ukrposhta, Igor Smelyansky, unveiled the stamp with an impressive statement: “The picture of Usyk on the stamp is the message that ‘the world loves strong people.’ And Ukrainians are famous for their bravery and courage. Strength isn’t always about muscles, throwing arms, or lifting the body. It is about character, faith, and the spirit that our country has been given.”
Stamps are not a collector’s item; a portion of the proceeds will support the charity Usyk Foundation, promoting Usyk’s commitment to giving back. “His success inspires us and reminds us that real power lies in fighting for good,” added Smelyansky.
Smelyansky went on to call Usyk “an invincible symbol for millions,” acknowledging how the boxer has brought international attention to Ukraine. “We are grateful to Oleksandr for making the Ukrainian flag fly on the screens of millions of people around the world during his appearance in the ring. His actions are proud and inspiring.”
Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) is scheduled to defend his heavyweight title against Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Dec. 21.
