The al-Hol camp in northeastern Syria is home to around 6,000 women and children, relatives of Islamic State fighters who were captured or killed. The camp is guarded by US-backed forces that control about a quarter of Syria. Holly Williams entered the dangerous field, whose future is uncertain after the fall of former President Bashar al-Assad’s regime.
