Dolton “Super Mayor” Tiffany Henyard plans to fight next lose the Democratic nomination for Thornton Township supervisor, a position she currently holds.
Henyard did not qualify for the Dec. 3 caucus because he did not have a certified counselor on his ticket, a requirement for all nominees.
She objected to the procedure that night and later stated: “It was voter suppression,” in an interview on Thursday.
On Saturday, he revealed during a rally that he planned to file a lawsuit against Illinois state Sen. Napolean Harris, the Democratic committee member who chose to hold a caucus instead of the typical primary election and won the nomination.

“What happened to us on December 3 lacked fairness,” Henyard said. “We didn’t get a chance to be heard.”
“On December 3, 2024, your committee member, Senator Napoleon Harris, hijacked your right to vote,” he stated.
“Put some respect in my name because I’m loved throughout Thornton Township,” he reportedly told supporters. Fox 32. “That’s why I keep going. That’s why I’ve never given up.”
Henyard called for “justice for voters’ rights,” which he said were removed from the caucus. She insisted the process was “rigged” against her by claiming her supporters were not allowed into the room during the caucus.
“Hundreds of eligible voters, including seniors, local mayors, local councilmen, local state senators and state representatives were locked out of the venue and forced to stand in freezing temperatures without access to the voting process in a timely and fair manner,” he alleged. .
His supporters have also pointed out that Thornton Township hasn’t held a caucus in decades and only recently switched to that nomination.
Harris has denied any wrongdoing, insisting people still had their say.
“People in Thornton Township may be new to caucuses because they haven’t had one in a while, but that’s been the tradition of many other townships in the state,” Harris said last week.

Although she is not the Democratic candidate, Henyard could still be on the ballot in April for Thornton Township supervisor as a write-in or independent candidate.
During a meeting of the electoral board of the municipality on Friday, she he insisted“The people will put me to the polls.”
Henyard is currently running for re-election as mayor of Dolton as she faces several ongoing scandals for allegedly misappropriating funds and politically directing his opponents.
