King Charles III Love the royal family’s Christmas traditions – especially this one aspect of the holiday season.
“They like to do obscure gift exchanges and a trip to Sandringham,” says a source Us Weekly only. “They don’t do anything extravagant for gifts and make more funny gifts that make each other laugh.”
Members of the royal family especially spend their holidays at Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, England. Charles, aged 76, f Queen Camilla “Host a pre-Christmas lunch” for the team along with family and friends, says the insider us. This year, the couple is using “eco-conscious decorations” and “supporting small local businesses” to get into the holiday spirit.
“Charles invites representatives from charities he is involved in to some of the holiday events,” shares the same source. “His favorite holiday times are the moments with his grandchildren and spending quality time with his grandchildren.”
As always, the family will celebrate with them Annual Christmas Eve Tea in Sandringham, along with the black-tie dinner – with a “traditional multi-course Christmas dinner” – and a formal church service the following morning.
Because several family members have suffered health problems this year, the royal family has a “renewed focus on family, unity and tradition” this year, the insider adds. Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton host a “smaller intimate gathering” with her parents, Carol and Michael Middletonbefore the full celebration. (Both Kate and Charles Battling cancer this year Whereas Camila recently withdrew from various public events with an attack of pneumonia.)
“After everything they’ve been through and the difficult year, Kate is most excited to share the magic of Christmas with her children, help decorate Sandringham and host her singing event,” says the source. “Kate cherishes traditions.”
William and Kate, and their three other children – Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6 – “getting ready for the holidays as a family.”
“They were low and back to normal,” the insider also tells us. Part of their normalcy usually includes time with the King and Queen. Although the foursome “didn’t see each other that much” at the end of the year.
“Kate, William, Charles and Camilla haven’t seen each other much because their schedules are so busy and they live separate lives,” the source explains. us. “Both have also recovered and haven’t made as many public engagements together that would normally bring them together more frequently.”
