The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Bronwyn Newport would not say not possible Monica Garcia come back – at least not right away.
Newport, 39, spoke exclusively to Us Weekly On November 18th at the second annual Stonewall In Brick Awards gala, hosted by The Stonewall Inn Gives Back Initiative (SIGBI), the official and only association of The Stonewall Inn bar. while talking to us At the gala, Newport discussed how she would have responded if Garcia, 39, Returned for season 5which is currently airing on Bravo.
“I think it’s hard to say that because I don’t know the full weight of this betrayal for them,” she said us. “I do know that there are always three sides to every story. So I heard Monica’s, I heard the women; I have a feeling that the truth is somewhere in the middle.”
Garcia made her debut in season 4 of RHOSLC — her first and only season — before a bombshell season finale in which she was ousted as one of the people behind the Instagram gossip account Reality Von Tease. The account posted information about the other women RHOSLC And after the revelation, Garcia subsequently left the show.
“Monica did make them feel unsafe,” Newport, who also made her RHOSLC Debut in season 4, told us. “But I believe those girls were messed up on Monica’s DMs or Reality Von Tease’s DMs. I’m definitely speaking from the pocket because I wasn’t there. I don’t know, but I also think you do your best work when you feel a little off at ease”.
She continued, “So I don’t know that I want to hang out with her every day, but I’d love for her to show up. I might be in a really bad place with the ladies if I ask Monica to show up, but, you know, we’ll see.”
Newport showed its support for SIGBI while attending the event on November 18. The gala benefits SIGBI’s work supporting grassroots organizations committed to LGBTQIA+ advocacy, as well as SIGBI’s Safe Spaces certification program, which establishes policies to ensure businesses and venues around the world serve LGBTQIA+ staff, customers and advocate for equality.
“I grew up just outside of San Francisco,” she explained us. “I spent some of my youth outside of Amsterdam in the suburbs. So, personally in my family, there were always queer people around, very much part of my parents’ circle of friends, my brothers’ circle of friends. So it’s always been a community that I identify with and support. A big part From my departure from the Mormon Church it was not appropriate for me to be part of a church or organization that does not love and accept everyone.”
As for Garcia, she has few regrets about her time RHOSLCBut wishes her former cast mates didn’t have so much control (seemingly) over whether or not she could return to the series.
“It was more frustrating, because I didn’t think they had such strength to stand in such a position,” she said told us in October For this year’s reality star issue.
“I kind of thought, ‘This is your job. Either you come and do your job or you don’t, you shoot with the cast or you don’t.’ With him, especially this cast and I mean that with all the shade in the world they don’t NeNe leaksThey are nothing like that. So, it just bothered me that they had that kind of power.”
