Phoebe Robinson Getting real about why she started posting a collection of male celebrity thirst traps.
“I just said, ‘I know I’m horny for celebs. I know I’m not the only one. So let’s build a community,'” Robinson, 40, said exclusively Us Weekly on the red carpet at Comic Relief Live in New York on Monday, December 9. “And it was super fun to do the Thirsty Thursday (hashtag).”
The comedian’s posts, in which she uses the hashtag #ThotNaysh, have caught the attention of several high-profile actors. “Every now and then someone responds – as if Orlando Bloom responded once,” she said. “And I was like, ‘Oh, my God, that’s like, so cool.'”
According to Robinson, Bloom, 47, responded to her post by writing “a bunch of emojis talking about lord of the rings,” followed by a heart emoji, which made her think, “It’s just like, ‘Oh, my God, I love you.'”
The hashtag garnered many posts β and for Robinson, she never expected it to blow up the way it did.
“I was just silly. I was like, ‘Oh, this is a fun, silly thing you can do on social media. It feels low-stakes. I don’t have to worry about numbers,'” the What men want said an actress. “I’m just really enjoying myself.”
Robinson’s latest #ThotNaysh post features Jude Law And part of the caption reads: β#ThotNaysh, not since Paul NewmanWould I be, like, ‘Damn, that’s a white man I’d curl my hair into the civil rights bayang’, sing all five verses of ‘We Shall Overcome’, and ask Thurgood Marshall to represent us wild – π – so all fifty United States can recognize With love ‘between me and the winner of the day’.
However, one thing Clash of cookbooks The cohost’s wildest posts have included a former US president.
βWhen I did one on Barack ObamaI tagged him in it, (and) people were like, ‘You’re crazy for tagging him in a post.’ But I had to go for it,” Robinson said. “He didn’t respond because he had more important things to do.”
Although Robinson has been interviewed before Michelle ObamaThat didn’t stop her from adding Barak to the tagging button. “I was like, ‘You know what? If she hits me, I deserve it. It’ll be fine,'” she joked.
Robinson also wants to expand her social media presence following the popular reception of her #ThirstyThursday posts, and hopes to turn the hashtag into a podcast.
“I really like interviewing people. I’ve done it a lot, whether it’s podcasts or interviews with Michelle Obama on her book tour,” she said us. “So, I want to get back to it (and) highlight these fun, warm people in a really cool and interesting way.”
