Japanese police recently arrested a 37-year-old man who confessed to breaking into more than 1,000 houses, and said that this was an unusual way to deal with stress. Authorities arrested him on Monday for breaking the law at a house in Dazaifu, in southern Japan, a police spokesman confirmed to AFP.
The Mainichi Shimbun reported the man’s words: “Breaking into other people’s houses is my hobby, and I’ve done it over 1,000 times.” He also explained that, “I get so excited that my hands sweat, I wonder if someone will touch me, and it helps to reduce my anxiety,” as explained by the police.
In another shocking incident that took place on the Internet, authorities are discussing the case of a dead teenager who is being prosecuted after his death. His suicide also inadvertently led to the death of another woman, sparking controversy over unusual crimes.
The tragedy happened on August 31 when a teenager jumped from the 12th floor of a building, falling on a pedestrian and killing both people. The boy, Chikako Chiba, 32 years old, was walking with three friends when the girl fell on him.
Police say the teenager was old enough to understand the risk of endangering others below and have asked for a warrant to be filed against him, even after his death. The move has drawn widespread criticism, with many calling it pointless and a waste of resources, as he has said. Japan Today.
Comment on Japan Today This website confused many people: “Blaming a dead girl is government folly – the authorities are so busy enforcing their strict, antiquated laws that they’ve lost touch with common sense and human dignity.”
