Ruben Amorim could do with an encouraging win for the Czech Republic tonight as his Manchester United side take on Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League.
Amorim started well at Old Trafford but back-to-back defeats to Arsenal and Nottingham Forest have hampered their progress.
The 2-0 defeat at the Emirates, especially after they took control, could easily be forgiven, but United’s performance in the 3-2 defeat by Forest on Saturday would have surprised Amorim.
United and Plzen both enter tonight’s game with nine points from five games and sit on the edge of the independent qualification places.
Coach Miroslav Koubek has made two changes to the team that won 2-1 at Karvina at the weekend.
Cadu comes in for Milan Havel and Daniel Vasulin replaces Erik Jirka. Matej Vydra, who played for Watford, West Brom, Derby and Burnley among many others, resumes his current team.
Viktoria Plzen: Jedlička, Cadu, Dweh, Marković, Jemelka, Souaré, Cerv, Kalvach, Vydra, Šulc, Vašulín
Amorim has made five changes to the team that lost to Forest.
In came Noussair Mazraoui, Tyrell Malacia, Casemiro, Joshua Zirkzee and Marcus Rashford in place of Leny Yoro, Alejandro Garnacho, Manuel Ugarte, Robbie Mainoo and Rasmus Hojlund.
The move also means a change for Amad Diallo, who has been playing at right back but will move forward to support Zirkzee.
Rashford is making his 75th appearance in Europe’s top competition for Manchester United, the 10th player to reach the goal.
Manchester United: Onana, Dalot, Mazraoui, De Ligt, Martinez, Malacia, Casemiro, Fernandes (c), Amad, Rashford, Zirkzee
