“Something not so fun happened to us this weekend,” Dutta, 41, shared on the Friday, December 13, episode of “The Balancing Act.” podcast. “We’ll be brief about it, but I feel like it’s important to talk about it because if other women are going through it…other women that I’ve honestly read about online and some friends are what got me through it.”
On December 6, Dutta said she started bleeding “really hard, and it was out of nowhere.”
“We were just on the couch,” she said recalling moments with cohost and Eros Luke Broderick. “I didn’t do anything crazy and I just panicked.”

“I’m still bleeding, and that’s the scary part,” Dauta recalled. “I don’t know what that means, because I’m in full panic mode, like, ‘How much have I really lost? How much blood am I going to keep losing? Is this going to keep happening? Is it never going to stop?’ There are crazy thoughts going through your head.”
Once they saw a doctor, Dota and Broderick, 33, got the good news their baby was fine
“Everything worked out,” Dout said. “We still don’t fully know what happened. … What we think happened is that my placenta was displaced. The blood was all mine; the blood was not the baby’s.”

We got to listen to her heartbeat, the technology was so fantastic in making us feel good and making us feel relaxed in that way. Before she was released from the hospital, Broderick said Dota received paperwork saying she had experienced a “threatened miscarriage.”

While the couple remains vigilant, they are thankful another doctor’s appointment reassured them their baby is safe. They also expressed gratitude the valley costars Nia Sanchez and Danny Boko for their prayers during the terrifying visit to the ER.
“It was a huge scare,” Dout said. “I believe wholeheartedly that God and Luke made it through because I didn’t think I was going to.”
