Jerry O’Connell happily bestows his wisdom on action to his daughters, Charlie and DollyEven if it means they will be Nefo babies.
“I have one daughter who is auditioning for a musical at school,” O’Connell, 50, told exclusively Us Weekly While promoting the series finale of the call and Star Trek: Bottom Decks. “They do UrinetownSo we went to Mel’s last night and we went through her lines at the diner, so it was really funny.”
The actor – who was Shared host on the call since 2021 – noted that he doesn’t think his twin daughters, 16, think he’s “cool,” but that doesn’t stop him from passing on his career wisdom to them. (O’Connell shares his two teenagers with his wife Rebecca Romine.)
“I’m going to have some Nefo babies! I’m throwing it away,” O’Connell joked, teasing that he wanted to “pre-name” his children Nefo babies before “anyone else” could do it.

“I’m good at two things in this life – I’m good at playing and I’m good at hosting a TV show and that’s it. I’m also in the fantasy football playoffs,” he said with a laugh. “Whatever!”
O’Connell explained that because of his skill set, running lines with his girls should give them a leg up.
“I can sit with my daughter who is auditioning for a high school play in a diner, and I can say, ‘This is how you should say this line. This is how you should say this line. This is how you should say this line,'” he shared. “And that’s the only thing I can pass on to my children.”
He continued to troll himself for his lack of knowledge about other things, including financial advice, cryptocurrency, and “wilderness survival.”
O’Connell’s background, however, could help his kids “increase their chances of getting a good role” in the high school game. He noted that if one of his and Romain’s daughters is “in high gear,” she can also assist them with modeling comments.
“She can say, ‘These are good positions for modeling if you want to model,'” he said of his wife’s additional skills. “Then we might have some Nefo babies.”
O’Connell recalled telling one of his daughters at a diner in Los Angeles, “They’re going to call you Nefo Baby. It’s coming. Nefo Baby is coming.” He then told his boy, “You have to work for it. There are no shortcuts. It will be even harder for you!”
While his teenage sons are just now getting into the game, O’Connell hasn’t ruled out working with one in the future – if they allow it. “I don’t know if my kids will ever want to work with me!” he teased.
He confessed that right now, he’s just happy that his girls “don’t evaporate” and There are “no boys” in their track. “Their friends are starting to hook up. Their friends are starting to ‘make it.’ That’s what they said. ‘You’re going to need it.’ I hear that a lot,” O’Connell said. usAnd explained that he hears a lot during the duty to travel on trips. “My kids, or so I’m told, aren’t dating anyone.”
He added that during his children’s time before the license, he feels like a “government agency” while “trying to get as much information as possible” during each pick-up and drop-off exchange.

He confessed, “I’m quite depressed that it’s over, and my family can feel it too.” O’Connell revealed that during one of his infamous carpool slots he overheard his daughters talking about the end of this episode.
“I heard one of my kids in the back say, ‘Yeah, my dad’s show is ending so he’s going to be around a lot more. I hope he’s not really weird or anything because we’re just going to see him around,'” he continued. “And I went, ‘Oh my God. This is getting serious.'”
O’Connell, who also voices Commander Jack Ransom in the animated series Star Trek: Bottom DecksMention that he is open to any career opportunities going forward.
“I would like to do another talk show. I enjoy it,” he said usAnd added that he also likes the idea of being a guest on a talk show promoting his own series. “Be on the call For the last 4 years, I’ve seen everybody bring their TV shows to our show and I want to bring my show to somebody’s show.”
