The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 Betting evidence earthquake change in the cricketing scene when Rishabh Pant he became the highest paid player in the history of the tournament. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) broke records by earning the services of an Indian wicketkeeper-batter an unprecedented 27 crore.
Set in Saudi Arabia, the ad featured intense drama, with Pant at the center of a fierce battle between LSG and LSG. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The deal surprised cricket fans and pundits alike, as LSG determined their bid to dominate the upcoming season.
Pant, released by Delhi Capitals (DC) earlier this year, he was the most sought after player in the market. There was speculation as to where the fighters would end up, and as expected, the order was dire. While SRH challenged LSG in the early going, the real drama happened when DC used their Right to Match (RTM) card, kicking off the contest. The bid quickly rose to INR 22 crore, and DC owners Parth Jindal he didn’t hesitate to push the boundaries to save Pant. However, LSG owner Sanjiv GoenkaThe calculation method was confirmed.
In an interview with Ranveer AllahbadiaGoenka also highlighted the good planning that creates this great interest. According to Goenka, a lot of calculations were made to find out the financial position of DC and how they feel about Pant.
“There was science behind going to 27 Cr for Rishabh Pant. Delhi went to 26.5 Cr for Shreyas Iyer. So, then my feeling was, ‘Parth Jindal is so crazy about Rishabh Pant, he can go to the IPL Auction.’ So, the idea was to go two up from Parth, or even three up, and that’s where he would stand. For Rishabh, we counted three events, and in all, he was very important to us,” Goenka said.
Goenka also revealed that LSG has set aside a budget of INR 25-27 crore specifically for Pant, showing the franchise’s commitment to finding an Indian anchor around whom the team can revolve.
“We knew we were going to get him, and we kept between 25 and 27 crores for him in all our preparations. So, bidding for Rishabh’s stand at 21-22 Cr, DC didn’t waste a single moment to RTM him. So that means they were ready to do whatever it takes to get Rishabh , “ The owner of LSG added.
Goenka emphasized the important role Pant will play in establishing LSG. Goenka acknowledged DC’s willingness to retain Pant, but felt that this incident may have contributed to their failure to retain him in the past.
“However, whatever the situation was, they didn’t keep him, or Rishabh didn’t want to be kept. It’s not appropriate for me to discuss this or comment on it, but they were interested. If you look at what Parth did, it’s like a deal is done. Looking at all this, we thought that 27 Cr it was safe. If Rishabh had not come to us, LSG would have missed the anchor on which the whole team is built,”
Pant’s journey to become the highest paid player of the IPL is inspiring. Following a near-fatal car accident in December 2022, the cricketer faced a painful year of recovery. However, his return to IPL 2024 was not impressive. While leading the Capitals, Pant scored 446 runs in 13 innings at an incredible 155.40, including three centuries. His performances showed his unmatchable courage and skill, proving once again that he is one of the best players in the world.
