The Afghanistan cricket team is currently on a full tour of Zimbabwe, which consists of three T20Is, a three-match ODI series, and a one-match series. The Afghanistan team has already won the T20I series 2-1 by winning the last two matches against Zimbabwe.
Zimbabwe and Afghanistan are currently playing three ODI matches. However, the first ODI match could not be completed, as rain washed away the match in Harare. Well, the visitors continued their amazing form and inflicted a crushing defeat on Zimbabwe in the second ODI.
Afghanistan crushed Zimbabwe by 232 runs in the second ODI to take a 1-0 lead in the ongoing ODI series on Thursday, December 19, with the third and final match scheduled for December 21 in Harare. However, this victory proved to be a forgettable one for the Afghan star.

Actually, Afghanistan pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi has been fined 15% of his match for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the second ODI against Zimbabwe in Harare. The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the reprimand on Friday (December 20).
Along with the fine, Farooqi also received one demerit point, marking his first offense in the past 24 months. The footballer admitted his mistake and accepted the decision handed down by referee Andy Pycroft, and other match officials.
Meanwhile, this happened in the fifth over of Zimbabwe’s game when Fazalhaq Farooqi protested after an LBW appeal against Craig Ervine was rejected. Although DRS was not found, Farooqi reviewed and violated Article 2.8 of the ICC Code.
Article 2.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel refers to “showing disagreement with the referee’s decision in an international match.” Incidentally, match referee Andy Pycroft, field umpires Chris Brown and Percival Sizara, third umpire Langton Rusere, and fourth umpire Iknow Chabi challenged Fazalhaq Farooqi.
The ICC said in a statement: “Afghanistan fast bowler Fazalhaq Farooqi has been fined 15% of his match for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct. Additionally, one demerit point has been added to Fazalhaq’s disciplinary record, which for him it was the first offense in 24 months.ā
