Evan Hopper discusses the death of General Hospital character Dax (not included)

General Hospitalof Evan Hopper Ready to ease into his final scenes as Dax Heller before his character A shocking death.

“This last shot really makes Dex look pretty dead,” Hooper, 27, shared exclusively Us Weekly When you relive the Friday, December 13th episode of General Hospital. “It was really cool because I got to work with him Jeff Cooverwho plays Cyrus Reno on the show. He’s this serial killer and kind of a monster of a character. But Jeff is such an amazing person and an amazing actor. In those last scenes, I knew I really wanted to bring the heat.”

From Hopper’s perspective, participating in “Death Twist” with Coover was nothing short of an honor.

“I was like, ‘I prepared extra hard for you because I knew you were going to be here and I’m performing for you,'” Hopper said before summing up his character’s fate. “It’s kind of like how Dax was going to get Cyrus to the hospital when he was working for Sonny. So it’s kind of a twist of fate, very soap opera.”

Hooper made his debut General Hospital in 2022 and was part of more than 200 episodes before his character’s shocking death.

During his experience working on the set, Hopper was able to get inspiration from soap opera legends including Maurice Benard, Cynthia Watrous, Duel Chad, Josh Swickard and Michael Easton.

“For me it was really top to bottom, just a fun playing opportunity,” Hooper said us. “It was always, ‘Wow. What a cool story to tell.’ That was always the story and it was going to be told, and I was just trying to do it the best I could and really soak up these amazing scenes, final scenes, with all these people I love.”

While soap opera fans have seen some of their favorite actors come back to life after a shocking death, Hooper is not sharing details about what’s to come.

Instead, he’s just thrilled that he’s had the opportunity to develop and build a character over two years.

“From my first day at General HospitalI’ve just been grateful for every day,” Hooper said. “Upon leaving, it’s really been a second home to me for the last two and a half years, and I couldn’t love it more, or love the people more. But it’s time for the next adventure.”

Hopper said he has some “really fun stuff” he hopes to share in 2025.

“I hope to continue doing wonderful projects that I really enjoy and really challenge me as an actor like General Hospital There have been in the last two and a half,” he said. “Keep following.”
