Getty Images (2)before Meghan Markle was a duchess, a former ESPN host Rin Rossillo I was hoping things might go down in the DMs.
Rossillo, 49, who now works for the ringingrecalled meeting Markle, 43, on Super Bowl weekend in 2014.
“We played a celebrity flag football game together and that was it (Sports Illustrated) swimwear models. So no one is paying attention to Markle,” Rossillo said on the Thursday, Dec. 5, episode “The Bill Simmons Podcast.”
The game featured former NFL stars who played alongside celebrities such as Markle, an actress Nina Dobrev and an actor Michael B. Jordanand Sports Illustrated models like Chrissy Teigen, Agdal said and Hannah Davis.
While Rachel Harris and Meghan Markle didn’t often cross paths on the Suits set, the comedian still has only positive memories of the Duchess. “I didn’t get to do scenes (with her). The only scene I did with her during Suits was when she got married,” Harris, 56, told Us Weekly exclusively (…)
“I was like, ‘That’s my track. She’s probably doubting herself a little bit right now,'” Rossillo recalled. “She was never more obtainable.”
The flagship football game was three months before the season 4 premiere of interchangeabilityThe show of the USA network in which Markle previously starred, and two years before she started dating Prince Harry.
After she and Rosillo broke up online, he said, “I shot her a DM.”
“It was a very soft sell,” Rossillo explained. “It was, ‘Hey, I know the new season of interchangeability Coming out if you ever want to come on the show to promote it.’ It was really professional.”
Still, Rossillo couldn’t help but admit that some ulterior motives were at work.
“It was like a gauge of interest,” he said. “Like, if I got an emoji back, who knows?”
Markle did responded to Rossio – but this did not lead to future meetings of the pair.
“It was ice cold,” Rossillo said of her reaction in the DM. “It was, ‘Oh, I don’t know anything about sports, but thanks for the offer.'”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s relationship has been on the global radar since they started dating in 2016. While Markle didn’t leave the celebrity flag football game with a potential new love interest, she did meet a superstar athlete who would become one of her best friends: Serena Williams.
“When Serena Williams walked towards me last February at an event, nails done, hair, everything done, I’ll be honest and say I looked behind me to see who she was running for. It was Serena Williams, after all,” Markle wrote on her blog the tig August 2014.
Markle continued at the time, “We hit it off right away, took pictures, laughed our way through the flag football game we were both playing, and talked not about tennis or acting, but about all the good old girl stuff. So our friendship began. She quickly became a confidant that I texted when I was A hiker, the girlfriend I used to rally for her tennis matches, and the simple chick I was able to have lunch with just two weeks ago in Toronto.”
