Ahead of the busy Premier League season, former West Ham manager David Moyes has given his thoughts on whether his successor, Julen Lopetegui, should be sacked by the Hammers after a poor start to his time at the London Stadium.
The Scot left West Ham at the end of last season after Premier League the club decided there needed to be a new voice in the room.
Julen Lopetegui maybe it wasn’t a universal choice and here we are a few months after he was engaged The manager of West Ham in advance of one bag.
David Moyes was almost the new manager of Leicester Cityalthough in the end the job went to Ruud van Nistelrooy, and the Scot is well aware of the pressure in the Hammers’ hot seat.
Maybe he has the ideas that helped Lopetegui.
“I watch West Ham all the time. Look, they have a great group of players, very good players, a lot of talented players and I think they have to make sure they give everyone time, give the manager time to settle,” he said. Sky Sports.
“But you all know, the league is difficult, the Premier League is difficult at the moment, you know that some teams that are doing well this year are making it difficult.
“But look, they’re starting to change, they’re starting to get West Ham results so let’s hope that continues.”
Going forward, if West Ham continue to focus on Lopetegui instead of replacing him, the Spaniard needs to find the sweet spot and improve things with his squad.
While no deadline has been set for how long the team will give him before choosing a replacement, it is clear that the results will have to change soon.
If not, Lopetegui may find himself going the other way David Moyes and they relax outside the door of the London Stadium.
