on Episode of “How Rude, Tanneritos” Rewatching the podcast, actresses Andrea Barber and Judy Sweetin reminisced during one episode’s backstage fashion debate.
Sweetin, 42, who played Stephanie Tanner, and Barber, 48, who played Kimmy Gibbler on the iconic 1990s show based in San Francisco, reminisced in the third-season episode titled “Just Say No Way,” which aired on March 30, 1990.
The plot of the episode found DJ Tanner learning that her high school boyfriend Kevin (Scott Curtis) drank while underage – although Uncle Jesse (John Stamos) thought she was the one drinking.
In the same episode, Candace Cameron Burrwho played DJ Tanner, wore a black outfit consisting of a large belt, MC Hammer pants and a black bustier with gold accents and a cropped black jacket. Her hair, obviously, was big.
Sweetin recalled the hair style Cameron Bure, 48, sported in the episode.
“It was the hair that she would pull her hair to the side, and then you would spray it like that. You would just spray it so that your hair came out on the side of your head,” she said. “I feel like the shoulder pads have gotten a little smaller, but the bangs have gotten a lot bigger.”
Barber agreed, replying, “The bangs. The baby’s got bangs, man. That’s big hair, big outfit.” She added that the outfit was Cameron Bora’s choice herself.
You got it, bro! America fell in love with the Tanner family in the late ’80s and early ’90s, and fans celebrated when news broke that the team would be reuniting for Netflix’s Fuller House — see then-and-now photos!
“Candace loved this outfit,” Barber shared. “The producers wanted her to wear a dress. She was like, no. This is what I want to wear, this little pantsuit. And she came.”
Both Sweetin and Barber said the outfit “was very stylish.”
Barber added that Cameron Bora “was fantastic”. She said, “So it’s very edgy. And you can see that the Janet Jackson influence is still strong.”
full house was a major phenomenon in the world of sitcoms and was broadcast from 1987 to 1995. The show lasted for eight seasons. Years later, he got a new episode on Netflix called Fuller House. The reboot aired on the streaming service from 2016 to 2020.
The original cast of Full House starred Sweetin, Barber alongside other iconic actors such as Bob Sigt, Dave Collier, Laurie LoughlinJohn Stamos and twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olson.
With the exception of the Olson twins, most of the cast returned to Fuller House.
Cameron Bure, for her part, appears in the two new Great American Family Christmas movies this holiday season. Her first film, Christmas less travelerspremiered in November, while the second film, Sweet Christmas HousePremieres Sunday, December 1st.
