In Gurugram, a woman and her child were robbed at gunpoint by a cab driver on November 29 while traveling in a BluSmart vehicle.
The driver allegedly pulled out a gun, prompting the woman to transfer Rs 55,000 from her mobile phone. He then ran away with some of his belongings.
BluSmart, the cab company, has apologized to the victim, assured that they will take immediate action against the offender, and promised to strengthen the safety of passengers.
The cab driver, Sonu Singh, picked up the mother and her son on November 29 from Airia Mall in Gurugram, where they were going to Microtek Greenburg in Sector 86.
However, when the cab reached Sector 83, the driver allegedly pulled out a gun, forcing the woman to transfer Rs 55,000 through her mobile phone. They then took her phone and wallet before fleeing the scene.
Following the woman’s complaint, the police registered a case against the driver and arrested him on December 1.
