Before the mayor goes into surgery for his injuries, he gives Commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) The keys to the city and tells him “get us out of this”. Frank does just that and uses all the resources at his disposal, including Erin asking her ex-husband, Jack Boyle (Peter Herman), pull some strings and make him sit with the prisoner Lorenzo Batista (Edward James Olmos), whose son shot the mayor.
Although he is worried about his wife, Addie, who survived her attack, Jamie Reagan (Will Estes), worked with his nephew Joe Hill (Will Hochman) to locate one of the shooters. Badilo, unfortunately, does not succeed.

After his death spree, Danny tracked down Ramirez, rescued his daughter, and took him into custody (using his usual charm and appeal as a father himself).

She stated that “everyone deserves a second chance” and promised that this time it would be “different”. Erin then suggested, “A party of two? City hall? Tell everyone about it after the fact?”
Jack agreed, and during the family meal, Erin said she had a message hinting at the couple’s secret marriage. However, after Jamie and Eddie shared their big news, Erin chose to keep hers quiet, giving Jack a knowing look across the table.
Jamie and Joe successfully worked together to track down a suspect, and it was a heartwarming moment, as Jamie gave Joe a car that belonged to his late father and Jamie’s brother, Joe Reagan, earlier this season.
