Back on track – BionicOldGuy

My training is finally back on track after recent setbacks like sciatica. I’ll try to post more often now, I think I’ve shut down a bit, maybe due to a little discouragement. I’m doing a lot of PT, stretching and strengthening, for the muscles around my lower back and hips so hopefully there will be no more slippage. I average back to about two hours a day of exercise, including cycling, upper body strength work and PT. So far so good!

Friday I rode upright to the Coyote Creek Trail, but I rode upright on the dirt trails nearby instead of the paved trail. These have seen very little use, I think they are intended more for riding, but they are also great for bikes as long as you have wide enough tires. I am able to stand upright again for long periods of time which I find a fun alternative to sitting riding.

Yesterday he returned to the recumbent for a tour of the hills south-west of the city. Cruising at a decent speed, around 18 mph (~30 km/h) or so, with a bit of electric assistance, is exciting.
