Last summer, Chelsea beat Liverpool to the signing of Moises Caicedo and history could repeat itself in 2025 as both Premier League giants have shown interest in another Brighton talent.
The Reds have agreed a £111m deal with Brighton to sign the midfielder in the summer of 2023, but after putting the London club ahead, the Ecuador international could opt to move to Stamford Bridge as part of the squad. A £115m British deal.
All Premier League clubs are now interested in the Seagull’s Joao Pedro and it would take £100m to sign the player in 2025 as Brighton have no other target for the 23-year-old at the moment. TBR football.
The report claims Liverpool are keen on the Brazilian star, who is held in high esteem by Reds sporting director Richard Hughes.
The Merseyside club are set to compete for Pedro and Chelsea as Enzo Maresca looks to add another player to his squad ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
It is unclear whether the two English giants are willing to pay £100m for the Brighton talent, which could leave Arsenal open as a player. Oh, the gun is thought to be where he can go to Pedro this week.
According to UOLLiverpool will prioritize signing Pedro next summer from Brighton and could begin talks with the Seagulls as early as January as they look to leapfrog the competition.
The 23-year-old has been at the AMEX Stadium since last summer after graduating £30m from Watford. The Brazilian has been a key player for Brighton since making 49 appearances in the Premier League, scoring 26 goals and assisting six others.
Right now, it’s hard to see where Pedro would fit in at Anfield as Arne Slot’s front line is full of talent and is one of the strongest in England’s top flight and possibly Europe.
Mohamed Salah’s future is uncertain to the Merseyside club and the Egyptian’s departure may be the only way the Brazilian talent is brought to Anfield, which is good news for Chelsea.
