The photo of Trump was taken in May 2023 when he was arraigned at the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta after being indicted on voter fraud charges.

The magazine announced that Trump, who faced an assassination attempt last summer and won the first non-consecutive US presidential term since Grover Cleveland in the 19th century, had been appointed its Person of the Year on Thursday.
