The Justice Department asked a US appeals court on Wednesday to reject TikTok’s request for a temporary restraining order that would have banned the platform from more than 170 million users.
The order would require TikTok’s Chinese parent company, ByteDance, to remove the video app by January 19 or face a US ban.
