India to not travel to Pakistan in Champions Trophy 2025

The Indian government has denied permission to send the Indian National Cricket Team to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 due to security concerns.

This led to India looking for a hybrid version of the tournament with the Men In Blue playing all their matches in the UAE. The PCB was reluctant to accept the hybrid format and wanted to host the entire tournament on home soil.

However, recent reports suggest that the Pakistan Cricket Board has softened its stance.

In a recent meeting between the BCCI and PCB officials, the PCB proposed a “Partnership or Fusion Formula” as per the groups from both countries will play their matches at a neutral venue, Dubai, in all ICC events hosted by each country for the next three years, Cricket Pakistan said.

However, reports say that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has opposed the new policy despite showing interest in the past.

I don’t think 38 is old – Harbhajan Singh on Ravichandran Ashwin

Washington Sundar was selected Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja in the Perth Test against Australia despite his limited experience in Test cricket.

Talking about this, Harbhajan Singh said that the young spin-bowling-rounder has shown that he can fill the shoes of Ravichandran Ashwin and he is playing on the batsmen with a bold move.

“Washington showed it to New Zealand list that he is ready to take over the mantle from Ashwin in the coming days,” the spin-bowling boss said.

Harbhajan Singh also made it clear that he is not considering the aging 38-year-old Ravichandran Ashwin and age is not the only reason to bench him. He said:

“I don’t think 38 is old. He’s not 58. But yes, after many years, the shoulders get tired and torn, so the zip can be less.”
