US imposes restrictions on China’s access to AI chips, weapons

The US Department of Commerce has put in place additional measures for China to obtain the necessary equipment and components for AI chips.

The new rules ban the sale of 27 types of high-performance memory (HBM) and chip components, including foreign and American products.
