How long does pre-training last?

This question doesn’t really have a concrete answer because every body metabolizes caffeine at a different rate. However, we can provide some reference numbers.

Caffeine reaches peak levels in the bloodstream between 15 and 120 minutes after swallowing. And the half-life of caffeine is three to seven hours (meaning your body can take three to seven hours to eliminate half of it from your system), so it should easily get you through a run, workout, or sporting event when taken as directed.

However, if you are new to pre-workout caffeine supplements, you should avoid consuming them late in the day to avoid any negative effects caffeine may have on your sleep.

One serving of one scoop Beachbody Performance Energize contains 100 mg of caffeine. Start with one scoop mixed with eight ounces of water to gauge your tolerance. If you can tolerate it well, you can increase your serving to two scoops (but use twice as much water).
