We’ve got to give Lenovo credit this year.The PC maker, so long associated only with stuffy business laptops that employers forced on your dad, is knocking it out of the park. concept laptops and hardware that at least tries to do something other than the competition. Sometimes the concepts are a little weird looking at you. transparent laptop— but sometimes they feel they could theoretically be useful.
Take Lenovo’s ThinkBook Plus laptop, which has been making the rounds this week through the drain. The sixth-gen ThinkBook Plus is expected to have an extendable display that adds an extra 10″ to the generous default display. I’m just guessing; The leaks don’t offer exact display dimensions, so it looks like it’ll be little more than a concept laptop; it will be a car that comes to fruition.I wouldn’t be surprised if we see it show up at CES next month.
Looking at the pictures, I can’t figure out how this works. The extra real estate of the screen extends from the sides of the laptop lid, but it seems the higher the lid, the looser it is. How does the laptop stay balanced on the bottom? part if the upper part is heavier.
The photos shown show the top and bottom screen with two different apps displayed at the same time. The top can be used for video conferencing or showing slides to a remote workforce, and the bottom is for taking notes or reading while you’re dictating the slides How does the operating system handle the two display partitions?Does it automatically recognize the movable display as secondary?Will it require proprietary software drivers from Lenovo first? to work.
The laptop leak is somewhat reminiscent of the other one ThinkBook Plus that Lenovo tried two years ago when it extended the display and added a secondary interactive display to the keyboard to encourage you to, I don’t know, multitask.This product line aims to bring a wealth of value to the business-focused PC.
The ThinkBook Plus has prioritized the hybrid form factor for the past few generations. The company even tried dual loading Android and Windows in the same device, although it has not received favorable reviews.
The annual CES is around the corner. It’s usually when Lenovo releases something wild and exciting. This year, Lenovo has had three exciting releases. Perhaps this laptop will set the stage for the company in 2025.
