The C120 can stream and record video at up to 2K resolution, supports two-way audio (with a slight delay) and has a slot for up to 512GB microSD cards to store recordings locally. This affordable security camera has a starlight sensor that offers is impressive color night vision, intelligent detection (of people, pets and vehicles) without a subscription and IP66 ratingwhich means you can use it outside too (provided you can plug in the power cable). The convenient base is easy to mount on a shelf and is magnetic. No need to spend more than this on your home’s entrance or specific room to keep an eye on.
Motion detection is reliable, and you can adjust the sensitivity and customize the notifications you receive. The video is sharp, but the frame rate is up to 20 frames per second, so fast-moving objects seem blurry. You can set Tapo zones in the app, and there’s AI detection to recognize people, pets, vehicles, and the sound of a baby crying.Unfortunately, rich notifications, including a photo, are enabled in Tapo Care an optional subscription as well as 30 days of cloud storage for videos, and it costs $3.50 per month for one camera or $12 per month for up to 10. There’s no HomeKit or IFTTT support, but it does work with Google Home , and Amazon Alexa, although it was a little slow to load the stream on my Nest Hub. This camera also supports the Open Real-Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP).
If your budget is tight then Became C110 ($16) even cheaper with only a few compromises (lower frame rate, pet or vehicle detection, microSD limited to 256GB).
