This is probably one of the best toys I’ve ever tested (and one that should be included in our next update The best STEM toys for kids) The Bluetooth-enabled mobile board has pieces that feel great when playing. It connects to the GoChess app on your phone, which is integrated with Lichess and Chess.com. This is a small but significant discount on the marker set my 9-year-old is currently obsessed with. It’s water-based ink, so it will do significantly less damage to the surface your child is drawing on (I hate that I i know) and it’s double tipped for both fine line work and a wider tip to fill things in. This will be great if your playing plan to hand-paint holiday cards.
Clay is also part of us Best STEM Toys! guide, but my kids like the air dry version better than the polymer because it’s super soft and light and you don’t have to bake it in. It’s not as strong or heavy as the polymer version, but it also allows for little dots create on your mushrooms or clogged tvs or what have you.
Amazon and Walmart are both full of these little kits that promise to entertain kids and teach them skills at the same time. From the ones I called, this one was the biggest hit, and it provides hand soap for your reluctant guests for years to come. Playing music is also nerve-wracking (and just plain fun!) Loog Guitars is currently having a 40 percent off site-wide Cyber Monday sale Beatles + Loog electric guitar set and the company even sent the little amp in. This is a bit of a cheat since my kids already play the piano and violin, but they find Lug’s music instruction fun and easy to follow to sit on, grrr).
Guardian Bikes is currently holding a Cyber Monday sale. If your child is studying how to ride a bikeI strongly urge you to buy a lighter one from Target or Walmart. The bike from Guardian or Woom is not that much more expensive. Guardian also has a patented SureStop brake system which means the rear wheel always brakes before the front so your child will never roll over.It works and I know it because I gave it to a 20 year old ding-dong to test drive in an empty parking lot and he couldn’t turn around.
This rock rod is perfect for any aspiring rock hunter, and we say as much among ourselves STEM Toy Buying Guide.
